“Rabbi zidni ilma” (رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا) is an Arabic phrase that translates to “O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.” This supplication is derived from the Quran and is often used by Muslims to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings in acquiring more knowledge and wisdom.
The phrase is found in Surah Taha (20:114) in the Quran, where Prophet Musa (Moses) supplicates to Allah:
“رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا”
“Rabbi zidni ilma”
“O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
This supplication is a powerful expression of the Islamic value placed on knowledge and continuous learning. Muslims often use it as a prayer before or during their pursuit of education, asking Allah to bless them with understanding, wisdom, and increased knowledge in various fields.
