It is part of the advice given by Luqman, a wise man, to his son. The verse emphasizes the absolute oneness of Allah and the prohibition of associating partners with Him. Here is the verse in Arabic and its English translation:
Arabic (Surah Luqman 31:13):
يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
Translation:
“O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with Him] is a great injustice.”
This verse underscores the fundamental concept of Tawhid (the oneness of Allah) in Islam and warns against committing the grave sin of shirk, which is associating partners with Allah. It serves as a reminder of the central tenet of monotheism in Islamic belief.
