In the Islamic tradition, the connection between knowledge and light is also emphasized. The Quran, the holy book of Islam, is often referred to as a source of guidance and light. There are verses that speak about Allah bringing people out of darkness into light through knowledge and guidance.
For example, in Surah Ibrahim (14:1), it is mentioned: “Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord – to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.”
So, the concept that “knowledge is light” resonates with the idea that knowledge has the power to enlighten minds and lead individuals to a better understanding of themselves, the world, and their place in it.
